The little fish has done the unthinkable. He has stolen a very small hat owned by a very big fish! He swims off to the safety of tall, tall plants in the ominous black water. Along the way he passes a crab. Is the big fish looking for him? Will the crab tattle tale? What happens next makes for a cautionary fish tale. The big fish emerges from the plants with his hat. OK, where is that little fish? The message is clear: stealing is a no-no!

A wonderful story about sharing. When Annabelle, who lives in a town of white and black, discovers a small box with a continuous supply of colorful yarn, she begins to knit: a sweater for herself, one for her dog and others for neighbors, friends and buildings! But then the greedy archduke comes on the scene and the box is stolen. Will the box be returned to Annabelle?

Touchable textured illustrations enhanced by cutouts make this story a little magical. For example, the cut-outs on one page appear as leaves that become the eyes of a fish on the next page. Green is sure to be enjoyed and re-read and provides an opportunity to exercise visual literacy, imagination and critical thinking skills.
