Creative Writing   Hone your creative writing skills in a series of classes with a professional writer where you will start and complete a piece of writing ready for publishing (if you choose.) Our group meets the first Monday of each month. Mondays at 11 a.m., February 3, March 3, April 7, May 5


The Florida Public Library Page Turners Adult Book Club
Meets the third or fourth (depending on the calendar) Thursday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Read and discuss popular literature and classics.  Author visits throughout the year.  Refreshments are always served.

The Knitting Circle
Meets the third Monday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to Noon and 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for an informal time of sharing the joy of knitting and crochet. A master instructor is present in the evening sessions to help beginners to experienced knitters.

Black Dirt Storytelling Guild
The Black Dirt Storytelling Guild is for adult story lovers and tellers and meets on the second
Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the library. “Just listeners” are always welcome!

Adult Summer Reading Program
Reading Program filled with programs, prizes, and a summer book club.

Computer Lessons
For adults at the beginner level. Register for a 4-part series that covers Windows 7 navigation, internet surfing, Google searching, and Email basics. Four classes are held during the month on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. The duration of each class is approximately an hour.

General Information on Adult Programs

The Florida Public Library provides opportunities through a variety of programs for adults to learn a new skill, explore a topic, or gain new information. Many of our programs will help you to improve the quality of your life or just provide you with a relaxing time to explore a topic in a congenial atmosphere.

Our informal programs:

  • Range from culinary, music, art and craft and the exploration of literature.
  • Take place on Wednesday or Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons throughout the fall and spring season.
  • Are led by professionals and hobbyists from a variety of backgrounds.
