Rhymetime is our weekly library hour for toddlers from 18 to 36 months old with a parent or caregiver led by Miss Maria. Other arrangements should be made for siblings so that one-on-one time can be enjoyed by parent and child. We’ll read books aloud, tell stories with felt boards and puppets, learn fingerplays and marching songs, and finish with a simple craft. Sessions run for 6 weeks on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. There are 5 sessions throughout the year and the child must be the specified age by the first date of the session.
Storytime is our weekly library hour for preschoolers age 3 – 5 years old “on their own” with Miss Maria. A parent or caregiver must remain on library premises. Children are now comfortable participating in storytime knowing a parent or caregiver is close at hand in the library. Preschoolers will read along with simple books, learn the alphabet and numbers in English and Spanish, play music and complete an age-appropriate craft. Sessions run for 6 weeks on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. (choose one time.) There are 5 sessions throughout the year and the child must be the specified age by the first date of the session.
Discovery Time is a new program offered at FPL. What will you discover? Enjoy center-based, hands-on interactive activities around a new theme each week. Discovery Time is a fun approach to learning at the library! Sessions run for 6 weeks on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. There are 5 sessions throughout the year for families with children of all ages.
